Will I follow a textbook during the lesson time?

Not usually but it depends on the language program. If you sign up for the DELF/DALF program, you will have a book assigned and I will choose particular exercises to work from the book during the class time.

With the other courses, I use my own material, I will send it to you before the lesson. For homework, I will provide you with practical work on the grammatical constructions and vocabulary that you've recently gone over in the lesson.

How do I get more information?

If you need more information, don’t hesitate to contact me by e-mail or phone and ask me all the questions you have, I will answer you with pleasure

How can I sign up?

You need to fill out the contact form on my website with the dates that interest you www.verlaine-langue.com and do the test if you are not a beginner. Once I've received the form and the test, I will contact you to tell you the days and times available and to set up an appointment for the first lesson.

Do I have to have the lesson on the same day and time every week?

Yes but, if you have to change the schedule of a lesson, I will try to be as flexible as possible (don't forget, I have other students)

I'm a complete beginner, can I book one of your courses?

Yes, I've had many beginner students but you must be aware that you will need time to do some homework in between the lessons and study hard.

What material do I need to purchase for the homework?

None, except if you want to prepare the DELF or the DALF. Otherwise I will provide all the materials you need.

What is the cancellation policy for scheduled lessons?

The lessons are non refundable. However I will consider special cases related to a sudden serious issue (for instance health) which makes it too difficult for the student to continue taking any further lessons.

If you need to postpone, please let me know at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson. The class can then be postponed to a later date within the weeks you enrol for

Can I take the DELF/DALF exam  with you?

I can prepare the student to take the exam but you will have to take it at one of the registered exam centers – to find the nearest one to you, click on the following link:

https://www.france-education-international.fr/en/centres-d-examen/carte

Do you offer some certificate or evaluation after a certain number of lessons?

Yes of course if you need one. I will write up an evaluation on your French level (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2), what you have learned during the lessons, your strengths in the language in speaking and understanding

What makes you different from the other services that offer French lessons?

The following strong points are

• The prices are very good.

• I truly understand the challenges in learning another language – I have gone through the process of becoming fluent in another language. I know what it takes and have the patience to help facilitate your language learning.

• I respond quickly to any questions the student may have in between the lessons.

• I give you a lot of homework and I explain to you all your mistakes so you do not do them again (hopefully!)

• I am a linguist and have 25 years of experience, so I know very well how the language works and can give you very efficient explanations.
